About the Talk

Whether it is a climate change protest, a hurricane, a volcanic eruption, or something more positive like the Olympics, significant events have an effect on our life experience. These events become a part of every child’s personal story and it is important for them to express their experiences and responses. Through this webinar, Kirsten discusses significant units of inquiries and how they connect with children’s experiences of the world and current events.

Kirsten shares 3 specific unit plans and many learning experiences that teachers can use with their classroom community. Be it a How We Express Ourselves unit on storytelling, a Where We Are in Place and Time unit on location, or a How We Organise Ourselves unit on entrepreneurship; each one provides students the opportunity to express their ideas, develop reflection capabilities, and extend creativity!
