Your Guide to Assessment in the MYP

Assessment is today’s means of modifying tomorrow’s instruction.

Carol Ann Tomlinson

Assessment is one of the most crucial drivers for teaching and learning. As teachers, we use information from assessments to monitor the impact of our teaching. Likewise, students use assessments to show their progress and set goals. Designing and implementing assessment tasks, and using the results to inform teaching, is complex, creative work. But when it is done well, it can have a lasting impact on our students’ learning and motivation.

This guide features blogs with actionable strategies and downloadable templates that you can use independently, or with your teaching teams, to reimagine assessments in the MYP. We’ve also added bonus FAQs and assessment samples to help you design purposeful assessments for your students.
