Basics of MYP assessment

Assessment in the MYP is intended as an ongoing process, grounded in authentic, real-world contexts. Before you get started with the process of designing authentic tasks, it’s important to understand some basic assessment guidelines and features for the MYP.

We will unpack each of those features in this section by exploring the following:

  • The relationship between MYP subject aims, objectives, and criteria, and how they influence the design of assessment tasks (read more here)
  • The nature of criterion-referenced assessment and its role in the MYP (read more here)
  • How formative assessments guide teaching and learning (read more here)
  • How summative assessments guide grading and reporting (coming soon!)
