About the Talk 

In this session, Sandy and Poornima explore the changes that the education sector has been experiencing – from the most recent disruptions due to COVID-19 to the recurring need to rethink traditional school systems and its impact on the evolving role of educators. They discuss the need to embrace technology and blended learning more actively and effectively to ensure that education remains relevant and significant.

The focus of the talk is to rethink our role as educators, from knowledge disseminators to facilitators guiding young people to develop the human skills needed to flourish in the future. These core teacher skills include resilience, adaptability, continuous learning, social and emotional intelligence, critical thinking along with a mindset for sustainability and social responsibility.

Poornima Luthra
Poornima Luthra is the teaching faculty at the Copenhagen Business School and Founder and Chief Consultant of TalentED. Consultancy. Poornima teaches, consults and conducts corporate trainings in the area of Inclusion and Diversity, with the vision of making workplaces and societies inclusive for all. She combines her years of experience in education with her research on generations to inspire educators and educational institutions to think about education for future generations.
Sandy Mackenzie
Sandy Mackenzie is Director of Copenhagen International School, a position that he took up in August 2019. Copenhagen International School was one of the first schools in Europe to re-open its campus following the lockdown to prevent the spread of COVID-19, to 350 Primary School students. Prior to this position, Sandy has held leadership posts in China, Scotland and the United States. Sandy is an international educator with over 20 years of experience at six very different schools.
