Formative assessment in the MYP

As you already went over in the Basics of MYP Assessment section, the MYP criteria are used to describe the quality of students’ work. However, they can also be used to help teachers and students identify how to improve their work. Students can apply this feedback when they work on subsequent assignments. Likewise, teachers can use this feedback to design learning experiences that will help students to deepen their understanding and skills.

In this section, we will explore the following:

  • Planning effective formative assessment (read more here)
  • Designing effective formative assessment tasks (read more here)
